It’s been just under four months since Whitney Houston’s passing, but she is living on through her music.
Before her tragic death, Whitney was working on a new movie project with American Idol pop artist Jordin Sparks.
Sparkle, a remake of the 1976 film of the same name, stars Houston as the mother of three girls who form a singing group and then face struggles with fame and drug addiction. In the movie, Whitney plays Sparks’ mother.
This Monday (May 21st) the lead off single on the Sparkle soundtrack was released. “Celebrate” is the last song ever recorded by the music legend, which is written by R Kelly and also features Jordin Sparks.
Jordin on her experience with “Sparkle” and what it was like working with the music legend: “She was so cool and very motherly toward me. If I ever looked like I needed something,” said Sparks, “here she came saying ‘Are you okay?’ “
Sparkle will be released in the US in August, the UK in October. What do you think of the final Whitney Houston record? Let me know in the comments below.
